Thing I Don’t Do…

September 11, 2009 at 9:45 pm (Uncategorized)

Every mom has their own strength and weaknesses.  For example, I am pretty damn patient (for the most part).  Where most people would go crazy with 4 kids wrestling and screaming in their living room, just complete chaos all around, not me.  Taking all 4 kids out and about doing stuff with them by myself, no problem.  Getting the kids involved in cooking and baking is easy as, well, pie.

But ask me to come up with craft ideas for them…well, that’s where you’ve lost me.  I envy those who can come up with cute artys ideas for the holidays, who can sew up little projects for their daughters, think up things to make swords with for the boys (well…kids, because Savannah would so be in on that action).  Me…well, I need step by step directions WITH pictures.

Which is why when I stumbled upon the blog The Idea Room, I was absoultely smitten with it.  The writer Amy is a stay at home mom to 5 kids who has craftyness oozing from head to toe.  Each post has ADORABLE, easy to do projects with your kids.  They include pictures and directions to help out those uncrafty, like me.  She has also some great projects that you can do for orginzation around the house.

The kids have loved each craft we have done so far and love going through her blog picking out our next project.  Next up is the Creepy Halloween Apothecary Jars!!  I am so excited to be able to decorate the house for the holidays this year!  I grew up with handmade type of stuff (not all of it, but some of it) and I have such fond memories from that and I want to be able to pass that on down to my kids.

Check out The Idea Room…I promise, you will love it!!
